Seven Days on the Amalfi Coast
The brief was simple: somewhere on the water, in July, with room for both quiet mornings and one evening worth remembering. We found a villa carved into the cliffside above the coast — lemon trees on the terrace, the sea close enough to hear from the pillow.
Getting there is the easy part. It's what happens in the days after arrival that we spend months preparing for — transfers timed to the minute, a welcome waiting in the room instead of a check-in line, a small negotiation with the villa that turned into a saving we passed straight back rather than kept.
The villa's courtyard, mid-afternoon — the kind of detail no itinerary mentions until you're standing in it.
The signature evening was simple by design — a table set on the terrace, the right wine, nothing over-planned. The best trips rarely need more than that.
